Why didnt Chris Benoit try to go for the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE AGAIN?

Ive been wondering as of why didnt BENOIT go after the world heavyweight title again after he lost to Randy Orton at SUMMERSLAM.Should of he went for the title again instead of the US title they're both good titles but would Benoit had a shot again when he first won it at WM20.If he never died Im asking you guys do you think that Benoit couldve became world heavyweight champion 4 the second time.
