How did Roman athletics affect the fashions/sports attire of today?

I have a big end-of-the-year research project coming up and I decided to choose the above question as my topic. I've found a few ways Rome influenced fashion (such as the "gladiator sandals) but I'm having a little trouble finding other ways Rome influenced our fashion today. If you know of any, please let me know :)
