I want to put a video from my desktop on a blank DVD-R from but I dont know how?

I have a copy of Toughman Contest I went to a few weeks ago. I was able to copy it onto my desktop (its 3.97GB). I inserted a blank DVD-R into my drive. I tried to just drag the folder containing the video onto the DVD but a pop up says "Windows encountered a problem trying to copy". Im given 3 options to "retry, skip, cancel". Retrying doesnt work and skip and cancel closes it out. I do have a DVD rewritable drive so whats the deal here? I am computer illiterate so if anyone has answers pleeeease make it simple. Thank you!
