Why not farm endangered animals?

Saving endangered plants and animals is as much about keeping their habitats intact as it is about keeping them here on earth. The effort to preserve endangered species keeps wild places wild and streams clean and undisturbed as anything. Almost all endangered species are very sensitive to small changes in their habitats. Changes in their environments can keep them from reproducing successfully or cause them to die. Because of this high degree of sensitivity most endangered mussels, fish, plants, bats, etc., etc., would be almost impossible to farm. There are and have been successful efforts to raise a number of endangered species, but the goal is introduce them into the wild in the hope they will have a better chance. It is generally easier to keep existing habitats in good shape and restore damaged habitats.
