Is the H1N1 scare going to affect public opinion on global warming?

With the WHO crying wolf, it is clearly going to undermine the credibility of specialists and scientist who insist there is a danger in all field from geologists predicting eruptions and earthquakes to "climate scientists" warming of impending doom. I suppose it is possible for these strains to mutate into different more deadly strains but there are a lot of germs out there. It would be better if the scientists didn't cry wolf every time a little bug came along. When we get a real dangerous one, the population may ignore it. Similarly, it would be better if certain climate scientists didn't exaggerate their findings to a ridiculous extent. It doesn't' take much education to see through their BS.
